Madison Lawrence, 9, of Sanford, grew the heaviest pumpkin of the three entered in the local division of the big pumpkin growing contest. Weigh-offs were held Saturday in the parking lot at H.A. Mapes in Sanford. Lawrence’s pumpkin weighed in at 270 pounds.
