On Dec. 11, U.S. Rep. Mike McIntyre, D-N.C., speaks with his chief of constituent services in his office on Capitol Hill in Washington. McIntyre announced, Wednesday Jan. 8 he won’t seek a 10th term in the 7th Congressional District, which covers portions of 12 southeastern counties from Wilmington, N.C., and points north and west to the edge of the Triangle. He was first elected in 1996, succeeding retiring Democrat Charlie Rose.
