RICHMOND

Sydney Underhill-Tilton scored 17 of her game-high 23 points in the second half as the Richmond High School girls basketball earned team downed Oak Hill, 49-33, in Mountain Valley Conference action on Thursday.

The Bobcats won their first game in the MVC to improve to 1-1.

Leading 23-20 at the half, Underhill-Tilton took over. She finished with 13 rebounds and eight steals.

Richmond’s Bryanne Lancaster carried the Bobcats in the first half, tallying 11 of her 13 points.

Abby Nadeau led the Raiders (0-2) with nine points, with Desiree Dumais adding seven.

Richmond visits Spruce Mountain on Monday at 7 p.m.

The visiting Breakers earned their first win (1-2) with a Class D win over the Tigers.

Agnes Miongo scored seven of her game-high 16 points in the fourth quarter, with Adriana DePalma adding 10 for Pine Tree Academy, which visits North Yarmouth Academy on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Alexandera Lessard and Mary-Lee Brown split 14 points down the middle for Forest Hills (1-3).

The visiting Bulldogs shook off a slow start for an MVC win over the Wolverines.

Wiscasset, 0-2 and slated to visit Hall-Dale on Saturday at 1 p.m., led 13-3 after a quarter.

But, Madison (1-1) rallied to get within 23-19 at the half, and the Bulldogs outscored Wiscasset, 20-3 in the third for a 39-26 edge.

Lauren Hay led Madison with 17 points, while Sydney LeBlanc added 12.

Grace Webber paced Wiscasset with 12 points and 11 steals. Lindsey Gordon chipped in nine points and seven rebounds, with Maeve Blodgett finishing with six points.

scored 30 points in the opening quarter and rolled to an 85-30 Class D South win over Pine Tree Academy.

The Breakers fell to 1-1 despite 17 points from Evan Owen.

The Tigers led 30-6, 49-11 and 71-19 at the quarter breaks. Parker Desjardins had 24 points, with Jacob Riufts adding 17 points, Kenn Cruz 14 and Brandon Gilboe 10.

Alex Schlissner chipped in eight points for Pine Tree Academy, which visits North Yarmouth Academy on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

Boys hockey

PORTLAND — Joe Pichette scored the game-winning goal in the third period to lift Portland/Deering to a 4-3 victory over South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete at Troubh Arena.

Trailing 3-1 in the second period, the Red Riots tied the game on a goal each from Aidan Schifano and Gus Lappin.

Deven Hannan also scored for the Red Riots, who fell to 1-1 and takes on Cheverus on Saturday at 5:50 p.m.

Joe Herboldsheimer and Walter Lewandoski tallied for the 1-1 Bulldogs.
