SANFORD — Clarisse C. Collette, 90, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

She was a lifelong resident of St. Louis Street in Sanford and more recently resided at the Mayflower Place in Sanford. She was born in Sanford on Febr. 27, 1927, a daughter of the late Ernest and Marie Cote. She attended Sanford Schools. Married in 1951, she was the widow of Lt. Joseph Roger Collette who was a casualty of the Korean War.

She was a lifelong communicant of Holy Family Church. She worked at the Jagger Mill Store, Michaud’s Jewelry Store, Thayer-Diggery and Hooz’s. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, contributing many of her finished projects to Holy Family Church and St. Thomas School Fairs.

She is predeceased by her sisters, Bernadette Cote, Juliette Reed, Yvonne Letourneau, Ernestine Roux and Lucienne Michaud.

She is survived by her son, Roger G. Collette and his wife, Estelle (Lapierre) of West Chester, Pennsylvania, grandchildren, Andrew Collette of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Mary Bourquin and her husband, Ronald, great-grandchildren, Dylan Bourquin and Danielle Bourquin of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, sister-in-law, Marie Jacques of Sanford, Maine and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. with an hour of visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Thérèse of Liseux Parish, Holy Family Church, 66 North Ave. in Sanford. Interment will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
