BIDDEFORD — Yolande M. Tardif, 84, of Biddeford, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born July 4, 1933 in Biddeford a daughter of William and Gabrielle (Beauregard) Beaudoin. Yolande was educated locally, graduating from St. Joseph’s High School in 1951 and Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire in 1955.

On May 18, 1957 she married Renald Tardif in St. Joseph’s Church.

As a young woman she had worked as a dietician at Maine Medical Center, leaving there to be a full-time mother. A member of St. Joseph Church, she volunteered in the library of St. Joseph’s School and was active in the SPRED (Special Religious Education) Program. Her faith in Jesus Christ was exemplified in how she lived her life

She loved spending time with her large family at her Fortunes Rocks beach house and could often be found in her wetsuit, boogie boarding with her children and grandchildren. She was also a talented and creative seamstress who always sought new projects. Yolande lived a full and happy life.

Yolande is survived by Renald Tardif, her husband of 60 years of Biddeford; a son Peter Tardif and his wife Elizabeth of Portsmouth, Rhode Island; three daughters Michelle Shekarchi and her husband John of Bethesda, Maryland, Celeste Guay and her husband Steve of Biddeford and Judy LaFlamme of Biddeford; a sister, Jocelyn Blanchette of Biddeford; a brother, Bernard Beaudoin of Biddeford; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017 at Hope Memorial Chapel; burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
