BRUNSWICK — Dr. Katrina Seipp Chamberlin, 83, of Sunnybrook Village, died Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Mid Coast Hospital. She was born in Washington, D.C., on November 21, 1934, the daughter of William C. and Roberta Tyrrell Seipp.

She was an avid reader, every day since her father taught her to read a age 4. She received a BA from Connecticut College and her Ph.d. from Florida Institute of Technology.

She married Earle Poutney in Melbourne, FL in 1983. Mr. Putney died in December 1998.

She has lived during the summers in Christmas Cove from 1934 to 1998 where she had a home, and moved to this area in 2008. She chaired the committee which built South Bristol Library and was elected to Psi Chi, honor society. Since 1968 she has help those in need of addiction treatment and recovery while running a free practice to help women in transition.

She enjoyed making jewelry for her friends.

She is survived by a niece, Susan Howland Davidson, Santa Fe, NM and 2 nephews, John MacKethan, Washington, D.C. and Weston Howland, III, Boston, MA.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Brunswick, 15 Pleasant Street, Brunswick.
