Brrr – bundle up, kids

With the arctic cold gripping the area, the Westbrook School Department on the first day back from the winter break posted this message Tuesday on its website:

“Because of the extremely cold temperatures today, our school buses are running late. Please stay indoors until your bus arrives. All students who are absent or late to school today because of weather related reasons will be excused.

“Dress warmly today. If children are in need of hats, gloves and mittens, scarves, coats, sweaters, or boots, please contact your school office as we are able to help.”

Rolling Thunder group to meet

The Rolling Thunder Chapter 2 Maine, a veterans group, will meet at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, in American Legion Post 62, 17  Dunn St., Westbrook.
