BRUNSWICK

Brunswick police charged a man with criminal threatening Thursday who allegedly threatened people in a home on Lunt Road.

Arrested was 52-year-old Kirk Bouchard, of 135 Lunt Road.

Brunswick Police Cmdr. Tom Garrepy said the Brunswick Communications Center received a 911 call at 12:51 p.m. reporting the disturbance.

Police say three adults in the home reported that they felt threatened by statements Bouchard made.

Bouchard then went into his bedroom and refused to come out, Garrepy said. The other three occupants locked themselves in another bedroom.

Brunswick and Freeport police responded, closed Lunt Road and were able to safely evacuate the other three residents inside the house.

Garrepy said there were weapons reported in the house. Officers were able to secure all weapons when they went in the house before making contact Bouchard, who was cooperative. He had no weapons on his person, Garrepy said.

Police were on scene a little more than an hour. There was no danger to the public, Garrepy said.

Bouchard was charged with criminal threatening, a Class D misdemeanor. He was taken to Brunswick Police Department where he posted a $1,000 unsecured bail and was released.
