NEW LONDON, N.H. — Colby-Sawyer College led from the opening tip and defeated the Bates women’s basketball team, 65-55 Tuesday evening in the first meeting between the teams since the 1995-96 season.
The Bobcats (5-10) were led by Melanie Binkhorst’s 19 points, while Emily Freedland had 17. Former Freeport High School standout Nina Davenport chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Colby-Sawyer senior Emmani Robinson poured in a career-high 23 points on 11-of-14 shooting to lead all players. Tianna Sugars notched 14 points and a game-best 15 rebounds. Sophomore Lexie Hamilton added 10 points and eight assists, while Amanda Calvo contributed 10 points and three blocks.
