SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Christopher R. Colman, 28, of Southwest Harbor and formerly of Saco, passed away in an automobile accident on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 in Somesville.

He was born in Biddeford on May 30, 1989 a son of Robert and Marie Clark-Colman. Chris graduated from Thornton Academy, Class of 2007. While at TA, he learned to weld, a trait he continued to use and also lettered in football, his favorite sport. He went on the University of Maine at Orono receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology and in Chemistry in 2011.

He was employed as a manager for Powderhorn Campground in Old Orchard Beach for over 10 years. Most recently he started his new career for Jackson Labs in Bar Harbor.

His hobbies included gaming, knife throwing, target shooting and boating at Camp Laughing Loon on Little Ossipee Lake. He enjoyed going out to eat and to the movies with his best friend Zack and hanging with his dog Tucker and family. He also volunteered for In-A-Pinch Non Food Pantry for over 20 years.

Chris had two favorite sayings “It is what it is” and “That’s a tomorrow problem.” Through his teachings in life, our family was able to create many wonderful memories that will remain in our hearts forever. He will be sadly missed. Our family wants to remind others that his short time with us is to be celebrated as we hold his dear memory of Chris’s gentle spirit.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Patricia and Austin Colman and Margaret and Walter Clark.

He is survived by his parents Robert and Marie Clark-Colman, his brothers Joe Ruel, Jordan Berube and his sister Candice Colman and several nieces, nephews, aunt and uncles.

Visiting hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James St. Saco. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Most Holy Trinity Church, Saco. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Biddeford.
