WATERVILLE — The Bowdoin College Nordic team matched a program best carnival finish to open the season with a sixth-place showing at Colby over the weekend.
The classic race scheduled for Saturday was canceled due to rain and lack of snow. Sunday’s skate was held on a short loop, with fast and icy conditions following the flash freeze.
First-years led the Polar Bears as Elliot Ketchel finished 13th in the men’s 10K, fourth among peer institutions.
Renae Anderson paced the Polar Bears on the women’s side with a 21st-place finish. Classmate Gabrielle Vandendries put together a 32nd-place performance.
The Polar Bears head to Vermont for the St. Michael’s Carnival this upcoming weekend.
