BATH — Art educator Jackie Johnson will present a calligraphy workshop for teens on Tuesday, Jan. 30 from 3-4:30 p.m. The workshop is free, open to students in grades six through twelve, and will be held in the Library’s Community Room. Pre-registration is required; space is limited.
Participants will create an original, “illuminated” art poster with traditional pen and ink calligraphy. This free, make-and-take workshop guides teens in the design of a small poster embellished with personalized script. Instruction and all supplies are provided and light refreshments will be served.
To register for this free program, call the library at (207) 443-5141, ext. 12. For more information, contact Roberta Jordan, Outreach and Instruction Librarian, (207) 443-5141 ext. 25 rjordan@ patten.lib.me.us

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
