The National Weather Service says the storm that arrived Tuesday night brought up to 6 inches of snow to parts of the region by Wednesday afternoon. Some places could see a couple more inches.
Steady snow fell in parts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine, creating a slippery commute for motorists. It turned into lighter snow by midmorning. There were no reports of injuries.
The storm was part of a weather system stretching from Maine to Florida.
The snowfall might not stick around. Officials are predicting another warm-up for the weekend, with temperatures climbing into the 40s in New England.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
