SANFORD — The Scarborough boys basketball team took an 8-point lead into the final period but the visiting Red Storm would need to hold off the hard-charging Sanford Spartans to pick up a 66-63 victory on Tuesday night.
Sanford would outscore Scarborough 27-22 in the final eight minutes, but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.
Nick Fiorillo led Scarborough with 19 points and Morgan Pratt added 13 points.
Sanford’s Leyton Bickford had a game-high 30 points in the loss.
The Spartans (3-10) will visit Biddeford on Friday.
