MaineVoices Live features 1:1 conversations between Portland Press Herald writers and notable Maine voices. Audience members can expect a memorable night and a chance for Q&A at the end.
After a dozen years working violent crimes as a detective, Detective Lt. Tim Cotton took on a new role at the Bangor Police Department that allowed him to pull from his other life experiences as a broadcaster and storyteller. One of his responsibilities is running the department’s Facebook page and in the span of three years, with a little help from the Duck of Justice, Cotton has grown the department’s following from 10,000 to (almost) 275,000—more than eight times the population of Bangor. He’s now the Criminal Investigations Commander within the department, but he still makes plenty of time for social media.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
