LISBON FALLS — Sharon E. (Lawton) Morton, 62, lost her battle with cancer on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Bath, ME on Sept. 21, 1955 a daughter of the late Walter F. and Alice E. (Varney) Lawton. Sharon spent ten years growing up in Massachusetts, where she made lifelong friends until she moved to Lisbon Falls in July of 1971. She then graduated from Lisbon High School in 1973.

Following her graduation, she began her career at Bath Iron Works and worked there until her retirement in December 2017. She was married to Henry Morton from 1977 – 1990 and together they had two children.

Sharon enjoyed life and her job to the fullest and considered many of her coworkers family. She would like to thank them all and let them know how much she appreciated all the love and support during her lifetime.

She enjoyed many activities such as bowling, watching bull riding on TV, going to the ocean and spending time with family and friends to name a few,

Sharon is survived by her daughter Heather Wood and her husband Walter of Livermore Falls, ME, her son Heath Morton of Lisbon Falls and her step son Eric Morton and his family of Jefferson, ME, she also leaves two brothers Randy Lawton and his wife Marcia of Durham, ME and Mike Lawton and his wife Kim of Brunswick, ME as well as nieces Maranda of MA, Brittany of Durham, and Melissa and her family of Falmouth, ME, many great nieces and nephews, several cousins and a special granddaughter Adriana and her son Atlantis of Boothbay, ME.

She would also like to thank the Morton families for all their love and support as well as being there whenever she needed.

There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date.
