BATH — Robert W. Washburn Jr., 73, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Winship Green Nursing Home in Bath. He was born in Brunswick on November 30, 1944, a son of the late Robert Sr. and Nolia (White) Washburn.

Robert was educated in the Brunswick school systems and lived the majority of his life near his family in the Durham area. He went on to join the Maine Army National Guard, where he honorably served for 20 years before retiring. Bob worked most of his life at Eastland Shoe in Freeport, and later worked for Mobil in Bath, ultimately retiring in 2010.

Bob was family oriented, supporting his children in their endeavors. He enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Robert is survived by his three sons, Robert W. III, Andrew J., and Steven H.; his daughter, Amanda N.; his four brothers, James, William, Linwood and David; his sister, Marjorie “Marge”; his three grandchildren, Jessica, Zachary and John; his great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, June.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018, from 5-7 p.m. at Crosman Funeral Home. A burial will be held at a later date in the spring.
