BOSTON — Stephanie Lee Small-Prasher, 78, passed away unexpectedly at Beth Israel Hospital after complications of surgery on Tuesday, February 6, 2018.

Stephanie was born on December 4, 1939 in Topsham, Maine. She was the daughter of Murton O. Small, Sr and Florence (Leeman) Small.

Stephanie graduated from Brunswick High School with the class of 1957. She attended the University of Maine at Orono, and Suffolk University and Northeastern in Massachusetts and obtained Master’s degrees in both psychology and sociology.

Stephanie retired from Massasoit Community College in Brockton, MA as Professor of Sociology.

In 1985, she married Sanjay Prasher. An immigrant from India, Stephanie sacrificed and stood behind Sanjay during his residencies and three board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.

She was a member of the Mayflower Descendants Society, the Hemophilia Association, and was a member of the Topsham Baptist Church.

Stephanie traveled extensively all over the world and contributed a lot to International charity work. She also enjoyed doing needlepoint.

She leaves behind her husband, Dr. Sanjay Prasher of Fayetteville, N.C., a son, John Catalan of Dedham, MA; a daughter, Martine Storms Ward of Warren, MA; and four grandchildren; her siblings, Murton O. Small, Jr, and Louise Letourneau and her husband, Leroy of Bowdoin, ME.

Stephanie was predeceased by her mother and father, Murton and Florence Small; a brother, Richard E. Small; and her son, Stephen R. Storms.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11AM Friday, February 16, at the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick, where a funeral service will follow at 11AM. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Topsham in the spring.
