TOPSHAM — The Central Maine Board of Approved Baseball Umpires will be holding rules clinic for anyone interested in becoming a certified umpire.

The CMBABU covers Sagadahoc, Androscoggin, Oxford, Franklin, and parts of Cumberland counties. Levels of play include high school, junior high school, American Legion, Babe Ruth, Senior Baseball (men’s league) and Cal Ripken.

The clinics will be held at Mt. Ararat High School starting Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. The two-hour sessions will be held every week for four weeks. Rule books and case books will be made available as part of the $50 class fee.

For more information, contact the board interpreter Barry Fuller at 576- 0515, [email protected], or Doug Perry 576- 0718, [email protected].

Veteran umpires are encouraged to attend as well to brush up on the rules.

If you’re at least 18-years old, and like baseball, this is a great way to stay involved in the game while getting paid.
