BIDDEFORD — Robert R. Gagné, 75, of Biddeford died on Feb. 18, 2018.  

He was born on Sept. 7, 1942 and was the son of Donat and Lucienne (Dubuc) Gagné.  He graduated in 1961 from St. Louis High School. He married Rose Irene Trottier on June 21, 1969 at St. Andre’s Church.

He worked for Paras Pizza for two years, Alex Pizza for five years, and Maremont (Saco Defense) for 17 ½ years. He was also a caretaker at Fortune’s Rocks Beach.

Robert was a Staff Sergeant/Drill Instructor for the Army Reserves from 1964-1970.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #26, the National Rifle Association, York County Fish and Game.  He was also a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus #12941.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Rose Irene Gagné of Biddeford; daughter Carmen I. Roy and her husband David of Lyman; son Richard R. Gagné of Arundel; daughter: Celeste  M. Gagné-Descoteaux and her husband Shawn of Biddeford; seven grandchildren, Janelle Boisvert, Austin Gagné, Chase Boisvert, Tyler Gagné, Alec Descoteaux, Ariana Descoteaux, and Brianna Gagné; three step-grandchildren, Melynda Roy, Lucas Roy and Alan Roy; two brothers, Normand Gagné and his wife Donna of Manchester, New Hampshire and Raymond Gagné and his wife Eleanor of Kennebunk; and two sisters, Claudette Letendre of Saco and Jeanette Sullivan of Biddeford.

Robert was preceded in death by his two brothers, Roland Gagné, Ralph Gagné, and his sister Doris Corbeil.

A private service and burial were held.

Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel.
