SACO — Kenneth Morton Parker, 81, of Huff Road, Lyman passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. 

He was born in Saco on June 28, 1936 to Clifford and Mina (Morton) Parker Sr.

Ken is survived by his companion of over 30 years, Mary Rittal of Lyman; son Kenneth M. Parker II and wife Marylu of Tewksbury, Massachusetts; daughter Dawn Staples of North Waterboro and Chris Staples; son David W. Parker and wife Susan of Marietta, Georgia; and son Wayne K. Parker and wife Kathy of Hollis; brother Richard Parker and wife Mary of Kennebunk; sister Virginia Gagne of Saco; 12 grandchildren, Amanda, Lauren, Brad, John, Allison, Elizabeth, Luke, Kelsey, Emily, Sarah, Samantha, Kaylie; and three great grandchildren, Kaleb, Zoie and Gabriel.

Ken attended local schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1954.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Antietam.  After serving his country, he returned home and held several jobs before being employed by the Biddeford Saco Water Company.  He later found employment as a custodian for SAD 57 at various schools within the district until his retirement.

Ken enjoyed life, especially woodworking, kayaking, canoeing, camping and fishing in northern Maine, and spending time with family and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife Beverly (Grace) Parker in 1983.

Friends and relatives may call at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home 365 Main St, Wednesday March 7, 2018 from noon to 1 p.m. A 1 p.m. service will follow with a private family committal at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
