She was born on May 5, 1932 to Theodore and Gertrude (Janson) Sayer in Biddeford. She was a girl ahead of her time, she had a motorized bicycle for traveling to school and it wasn’t unusual for her to be seen with someone riding on the back with her. She graduated from St. Andre’s High School, Class of 1951.
On Oct. 1, 1955, she married William S. Robbins at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.
In high school, she started working at the Kesslen Shoe Shop. Not long after her wedding, she moved to Chicago with her husband who was going to school there. While living in Chicago she worked at Time Magazine. Upon returning to Maine she was able to stay at home to raise her children and she also watched other children for families that needed child care. When her youngest started school, she returned to work, and went back to Kesslen Shoe. She then worked for John Roberts, followed by ALB Rubber. She then became a CNA and worked at St. Andre Health Care until she retired in the early 1990s.
During her retirement she was a full time super grandmother, she never turned anyone away and her door was always open. She was an avid quilter and knitter. She loved cooking and baking for holidays, especially Thanksgiving. She also enjoyed going to the family camp in Bingham, Maine.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Timothy Robbins.
