Mary Joan (Duffy) Waddle, beloved spouse of Robert E. Waddle and adored mother of four, died peacefully March 19, 2018 at the age of 87. Married in 1949, Joan moved with her husband to Minnesott Beach, North Carolina. Following Bob’s service in the United States Marine Corps, the couple settled permanently in Harpswell, where her husband returned to his occupation as a lobsterman. In the 1950’s, the couple co-founded Quahog Lobsterman’s Coop, Inc., a company that continues today. Her interests included all things family – a more loyal friend and family member could not be found.

She is survived by her husband Bob Waddle; her daughter Bobette McCarthy and her husband Bill of Newmarket, New Hampshire; her son Matthew Waddle and his wife Donna of Bowdoin; her daughter Jane Waddle and her husband John Powers of Harpswell; and her daughter-in-law Deborah Favreau and her husband Larry, of Harpswell. She is predeceased by her beloved son Michael Waddle. She is survived by eight grandchildren: Sarah Newell, Kate Faust, Bob Waddle, Mikie (Waddle) Perry, Kristin Waddle, Kelly Waddle, Matthew Powers and Hallie Powers. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren and one on the way. We will miss her dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on March 27, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Brunswick. Reception to follow.
