BANGOR — Mary Ann Prue, 79, died Friday, March 30, 2018, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor surrounded by her loving family. She resided on Camden Court in Bangor and was formerly of Brunswick and Rumford, ME for many years.

Born in Rumford, Maine, on April 21, 1938, she was a daughter of Patrick and Gertrude Harrington. She was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford, class of 1957. Mary Ann worked as Oxford County treasurer and town clerk and treasurer for the town of Rumford.

Mary Ann’s biggest enjoyment was spending time with her family. She particularly enjoyed the holiday and family gatherings and celebrating her grandchildren’s accomplishments. She also enjoyed gardening and occasional trips to the casinos.

Survivors include a son, Robert Prue Jr. and his wife Deborah of Wales, ME; two daughters, Kathryn Zavadil of Hermon and Pamela White of Bangor; her former husband Robert Prue Sr. of Roxbury; five grandchildren, Jeremy Prue, Joshua Prue and wife Emily, Jamie Prue, Ryan and Tyler Murphy and great-granddaughter Kali Prue.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the Parish of The Holy Savior St Athanasius St. John Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford, ME. Interment later in the spring will be in St. John Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited to call at the Meader and Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford, ME on Monday from 5-8 p.m.
