U.S. Air Force Airman Spencer True has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas, following an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

A 2016 graduate of Lake Region High School in Naples, True is the daughter of Billie Jean and Paul True of Naples. She also is the sister of Chandler and Jacoby True.

U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Brian Aseltine has graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas, following an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

A 2009 graduate of Mount Ararat High School in Topsham, Aseltine earned a bachelor’s degree in 2014 from the University of Southern Maine in Portland. He is the son of Gail Aseltine of Topsham.

James Mannette of Windham has accepted an offer to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., following his nomination for that honor by Rep. Chellie Pingree this past December.

“Acceptance to a U.S. service academy is extremely competitive and reflects highly on a student’s scholarship, community service, and character,” Pingree said. “Along with all the other Maine students my office nominated, James has demonstrated an incredible commitment to serving the country and a maturity well beyond his years. I’m very proud that he was accepted to the Air Force Academy and wish him the very best in his time there.”

Mannette is a 2017 graduate of Windham High School and the son of Anita Quinlan. He is presently attending the University of Southern Maine.
