
He was born in Brockton, MA on July 16, 1933, a son of Lawrence and Mildred E. (Irwin) Shores.
He graduated high school in 1951 and received a bachelor’s degree at UMass at Amherst. He attended Andover-Newton Theological Seminary where he received his Master’s degree and became a minister for United Church of Christ in Alstead, New Hampshire. On May 30, 1958 he married Janet Dixon. They resided in Falmouth, MA and David was employed by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in Woods Hole, MA.
He was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Shores of El Paso, TX, three sons, Ken S. Shores of Franklin, MA, Doug L. Shores of El Paso, TX and Brian Todd Shores and his wife Cheryl of Schwenksville, PA, three sisters, Marilyn A. Spear, Beverly J. Matthews and Barbara J. Terrell and two grandchildren, Alexander Shores and Taylor Shores.
