BRUNSWICK — Richard G. Lewis, 87, of Patricia Road, died Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Boothbay on July 3, 1930, a son of Bernard S. and Doris M. (Todd) Lewis.

He graduated from Morse High School in the class of 1949 and entered the U.S. Air Force serving in Korea, England and Vietnam. On July 3, 1954, he married Ruth M. Hillman. In 1970 he retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service as a Master Sergeant. They moved back to Maine where he was employed by the state of Maine as a District Supervisor of Child Support Enforcement, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of the Topsham American Legion.

He enjoyed antique cars and airplanes.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth M. Lewis of Brunswick, one son, Gene M. Lewis of Lisbon, two daughters, Lisa A. Lewis of Pittston and Michelle Howe and her husband Michael of Phippsburg, one brother, Robert T. Lewis, his wife Jane and son Gary of Maryland, two grandchildren, Kristen M. Barter and Michael G.L. Coffin and many sisters-in-laws and brothers- in- laws, nieces and nephews in England and Canada. He was predeceased by one brother, Ronald B. Lewis.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath, with military honors at 2:30.
