BATH — On Saturday, April 28, Patten Free Library will once again host a day of tabletop gaming in the Reading Room. The event is free and open to all. No prior experience with board games is necessary, although most games are best for ages 8 and up.
“The 1990s saw a resurgence of interest in board games,” said Dean Emmerson, the event organizer. “Games like Settlers of Catan, which first came out in 1996, have helped spawn a huge industry and following. This day is for people and families who love to engage around board games involving strategy, a love of history or geography, fantasy worlds, and more.”
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The full schedule and game descriptions can be found at facebook.com/PattenFreeGaming. Participants may walk in on the day of the event, or register online in advance for the games they know they want to play on Facebook.
Participants may also bring their own games to play, or browse a game library that will be on display. There are also a few slots left for scheduled games for those who would like to volunteer for organized play.
For information on how to offer a game at a scheduled time, contact Emmerson at [email protected].
