Real estate background

I’ve worked in the industry for more than 20 years, beginning in Boston, in a variety of roles: rentals, corporate, a big company’s new homes division, relocations here and abroad. I’ve been a licensed broker in Maine for 10 years.

Moving to Maine

My husband, Tony, was a consultant – his previous job meant he could live anywhere – and we chose Maine because we’ve always loved it, and vacationed here for many years. And we wanted our children (Gardy, 17, and Aaron, 11) to grow up in Maine. They’re both baseball players, as is my husband.

Buyers and sellers

I’ve worked with sellers in the past, and still get listings, but I am primarily a buyer’s broker. I thrive in that capacity because I enjoy the fast pace and the multi-tasking and using my skills to keep everything organized.

You have to be available to your clients all the time. Focused on service, and super-responsive. That suits me. I’m very hands-on.

The Benchmark difference

Benchmark is a relatively small, and very local, “boutique” company. I’m a buyers’ agent as part of the Tom Landry Team.

There are seven of us on the team, including a marketing specialist, client coordinators, a communications director and an executive assistant, and we are constantly in touch, helping each other and coordinating our efforts to cover every detail and deliver the best service possible.

Market advice

Be prepared. Get your financing ready. Have your house ready to go on the market. If you go to an Open House, go ready to make a good offer.

Know what properties are coming on the market. (We will be keeping you informed.) And, of course, be sure you have a good buyer’s broker.
