BRUNSWICK — William R. Ramsey, age 70 of Brunswick, died Friday, April 27, 2018 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after a lengthy illness.

William was born in Bath, ME on September 28, 1947, a son of Harold and Solvieg (Johanson) Ramsey and attended schools in Wisconsin.

Mr. Ramsey was a self-employed fisherman most of his life and had also worked at Mid Coast Hospital for 10 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching old western movies, BINGO and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Klara (Smith) Ramsey of Brunswick; two sons, Robert Ramsey and his companion, Karen Pennell of Harpswell, and William Ramsey and his companion, Diana Moore of Lisbon; five daughters, Tammie Quimby and her companion, Mike Stinchfield of South Portland, Connie Cave and her husband, Chris of Brunswick, Bonnie McDonald of Brunswick, Wanda Coombs and her husband, Randy of Topsham, and Tina Ramsey and her companion, Michael Murphy of Harpswell; one brother, John Ramsey and his wife, Charlotte of Boothbay; a sister, Connie Pinkham and her husband, Gary of Boothbay, 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. William is predeceased by a sister, Sandra Sprague; a brother, Tommy Ramsey; and a grandson, Nicholas Ramsey.

There will be a celebration of his life from 12noon to 3PM Sunday May 6, at 30 Water Street, Brunswick.

Arrangements are in the care of the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick.
