AUBURN — The Mt. Ararat Middle School seventh grade baseball team edged Auburn, 9-8, on Wednesday.
The Eagle bats exploded for 12 hits, led by leadoff hitter Parker Bate’s, who had four hits. Lucas Holman had a long home run in the third inning along with another hit. Luke Spooner and Brady Merrill each were repeat hitters.
Solid defensive plays were turned in by Alex Wormwood, Landon Chase, Shea Farrell and Camden Allen. Liam Bailey scored the winning run.
Bate, Merrill, Spooner and Holman all pitched well for Mt. Ararat.
Gage Dudrarme played a solid game for Auburn and led his team with three hits.
