HARTFORD, Conn.
The Hartford Yard Goats (17-12) scored 10 runs over three innings and never looked back, completing a four-game Eastern League sweep of the Portland Sea Dogs (7-18), 12-4, on Sunday afternoon at Dunkin’ Donuts Park.
Righty Jesus Tinoco (4-2) beat the Sea Dogs for the second time this season, working six innings on six hits, four runs and seven strikeouts.
Matt Kent (0-1) suffered the loss for the Sea Dogs, yielding two runs, two hits, and four walks over 2 2/3 innings pitched.
Tait Matheny ripped a two-out triple to score run as the Sea Dogs cut their deficit to 2-1.
