BRUNSWICK — Mary Haines Wood, age 81, died Thursday May 10, 2018 at Mid Coast Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born in Presque Isle, ME on August 6, 1936 a daughter of George and Adelaide Burke Haines. She was a graduate of Easton High School, class of 1954 and later attended hair stylist school in Boston. She married Arthur Gray in 1955.

For over twenty years, she helped support the family farm while raising her two children. She moved to Bath, ME in 1979 where she met Wayne Wood. The couple later married in 1981, while she was employed at Senter’s Department Store, Brunswick. Mr. Wood died May 7, 2004.

She is survived by her son, Arthur Gray, Jr., and his wife Crystal of Easton; her daughter Cynthia Gray-Taylor of Cathedral City, CA; three grandchildren, Beth Paradis, Arthur R. Gray and Breanne Gray and 2 great-grandchildren, Jenna and Avery Tompkins.

Per her request, burial services in Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta beside with her husband will be held privately.
