York County deputy shows children the ropes

Children from Waban’s Fraser-Ford Child Development Center in Sanford enjoyed learning about police on Police Day, thanks to Deputy Travis Belleard with the York County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputy Belleard gave the children badges and let his new deputies sit in the driver’s seat of his police car.

The interaction gives students a chance to grow and learn by seeing an officer up close, touching the car and talking with police.
