CAPE ELIZABETH — Voters on Tuesday voted in favor of Anne Carney for the Democratic nomination in Maine House District 30, which includes part of Cape Elizabeth.

Carney, who garnered 1,387 votes, was opposed by Mary Ann Lynch, who received 774, in the Democratic primary.

The seat is being vacated by Rep. Kim Monaghan, also a Democrat. Monaghan, who has served four consecutive two-year terms, could not seek re-election because of Maine’s term limit law.

Charles Peter Rich, of Cape Elizabeth, ran unopposed for the Republican nomination.
