Harpswell voters approved an additional $40,000 to be spent on repairing the Mackerel Cove boat launch by a vote of 1,282-326.

Voters previously approved $60,000 for the project, necessary to improve the heavily used and degraded launch, at Town Meeting in March.

Additional funds were deemed necessary due to a change in the original design plans required by the Department of Environmental Protection. Voters were made aware of the design change during Town Meeting.
