SPRINGVALE — A tribute to writer Marc Widershien has been scheduled for 4 p.m. June 22 at Springvale Public Library, 443 Main St. The tribute to well known writer Marc Widershien, who passed away suddenly at his Springvale residence in the summer of 2016, will include a 40 minute performance from portions of his prose/poetry book, The Life of All Worlds, with narration by Gregory Hall, Maine composer/pianist, interwoven with a musical performance by Mezzo-soprano D’Anna Fortunato of songs from the 40’s and 50’s represented in the book.
Widershien was a finalist for a Pushcart Award and was widely respected and published. His other books of poetry include Springvale Maine, A Journeyman’s Book, Middle Journeys, and Poems of Survival. He was responsible for beginning the poetry series in Roslindale, Massachusetts in 2001 that continues on today.
