BRUNSWICK — Joan Catherine Jones, 93, died on Saturday, July 21, 2018, with her children at her side.

She was born in Quincy, MA, on April 25, 1925, the daughter of John Joseph (Joe) and Katherine (Kitty) Scanlan Quinn.

She was educated in Catholic schools and graduated from Emanuel College in Boston with a business degree.

She married Robert J. Jones in Boston on April 19, 1946.

Joan and Bob lived an enriching life at private schools throughout New England, until retiring from academia to establish Big Red Q Printing in Brunswick in 1978.

Joan was a proud and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister and friend.

She was predeceased by her husband Bob; brothers Robert Quinn and Fr. Richard Quinn.

She is survived by a son Kevin Jones of Rockville, MD., a daughter, Mimi Saxton and her husband Bill, of Harpswell, and a son Robert J Jones, Jr and his wife Gretchen of Brunswick; a brother Paul Quinn and his wife Lou of Omaha, Nebraska and a sister-in-law Jean Quinn; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Duncan and Annie Jones, Shannon and Jonathan Daberkow, Chris and Maya Saxton, Bill and Zara Saxton, Jeremy and Amy Saxton, Maureen and Ramsey Wilcox, Zach and Lisa Jones, Hannah and Jason Longley and Rachel and Kevin Folan; 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her immeasurably.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Summer Chapel of All Saints Parish, 419 Mountain Road, Harpswell. Interment will be St. John’s Cemetery, Brunswick, followed by a reception at Cram Alumni House, 83 Federal Street.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program, 84a Union Street, Brunswick 04011.
