Lydia Laurette Hicks, 83, of Allegan, MI passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. Born December 24, 1934 in Brunswick, ME, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Florence (Deforge) Bergeron. Lydia was a graduate of St. John School and a member of St. John The Baptist Church in Brunswick. She loved jigsaw puzzles, playing bingo and coloring.
Lydia is survived by her daughters, Susan Hicks Christman and husband Nick, Gail Hicks Williams and Jacqueline Hicks; grandchildren, Andrea Williams, Holly Williams, Kevin Olson and wife Julia, Chase Christman and wife Julie and Wes Christman and wife Courtney; two great-grandchildren, Lydia and Natasha Olson; her brother, Edgar Bergeron, Jr.; and sisters, Priscilla Dumont, Suzanne Snavely and husband Ronald and Simonne DeHann and husband Ralph. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Louis Bergeron, Roland Bergeron and Ernest Bergeron; and her sisters, Lorraine DeHann and Lucille Coffill.
At Lydia’s request, no funeral service will take place. A private graveside service will be held at a future date. Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, is assisting the family.
