WOOLWICH

Firefighters from several communities helped extinguish a fire that destroyed a vacant house in Woolwich early Thursday morning.

The fire was reported at 413 Meadow Road at 1:15 a.m.

Woolwich Deputy Fire Chief Glen Kirkpatrick said the single-story house had been vacant for many years.

Firefighters responded mutual aid from at least seven towns to help. No injuries were reported.

The state fire marshal’s office is investigating.
