SACO — A portion of Buxton Road was closed for more than four hours on Monday as crews repaired a utility pole knocked down by a car.

Deputy Police Chief Corey Huntress said police responded to a report at 11:11 a.m. on Route 112, or Buxton Road, of a pick-up truck that went off the roadway and knocked down a utility pole and tore down some electric wires.

The accident did not involve any other vehicles, he said.

According to Huntress, no one was charged in the accident and he believed there were no major injuries.

Route 112 was closed between Grant Road and Rocky Hill Road and traffic will be rerouted until the utility pole and wiring are repaired. Saco Police reported around 4 p.m. that the road had reopened.

Central Maine Power reported 94 power outages in Saco and two in Buxton around 1:30 p.m . Power was restored to the area later in the afternoon.
