One way to enjoy Arundel Heritage Day on Saturday was to take a wagon ride across North Chapel Common, like these people did. Arundel Heritage Day, held in the big field at the corner of Limerick Road and Route 111, is sponsored by Arundel Historical Society. People could peruse historical displays, buy an apple pie to take home, observe how antique farm equipment worked, admire a brand new calf or  make a purchase from a number of vendors. There were kid’s games, a skillet toss contest, a Civil War encampment and music by bands performing throughout the day. The antique farmhouse in the background is one of two Arundel homes gifted to the society in recent years and which are being preserved. TAMMY WELLS/Journal Tribune

This young lady, a two week old Normande calf, was a hit at Arundel Heritage Days and was part of the Kate’s Creamery display. Alison Leary said the calf hadn’t been named yet, but we thought “Milkshake” might be a good moniker. TAMMY WELLS/Journal Tribune
