SANFORD — Maine State Library and Gizmo Garden has collaborated to present Robopots, where boys and girls create an artistic flower pot that can electronically water itself every 24 hours, at Goodall Memorial Library.
Organizers say participants will learn about electronic circuitry, some coding concepts, and develop problem solving and critical thinking skills. This workshop is for grades five to eight only and pre-registration is required by calling 324-4714.
Girls and boys are encouraged to explore their inner scientist and sign up for this program, which will take place 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 26. at the library at 952 Main St. in Sanford.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
