Joan Fitzgerald Bayer, former resident of Brunswick, passed away peacefully at age 91. Joan was born in North Andover, MA. She earned a BS at University of Rochester and a MA at Mount Holyoke in Physics. She worked as a research librarian at Eastman Kodak and as a tax preparer. She enjoyed reading, sewing, camping, travel, and bridge. She attended the Unitarian Universalist Church of Brunswick.
Joan was gracious with an inquisitive mind and a wry sense of humor, and devoted to her family. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Bryce E. Bayer, and by her sister, Justine. Joan is survived by her sister Connie; son Dave and spouse Laurie of Concord; son Doug and spouse Marty of Ithaca; daughter Janet and spouse Arl of Berkeley; and grandchildren Nicole, Anastasia, and Cas.
