Bath- Bertha A. French, 77, of Washington Street died Saturday, October 13, 2018 at her residence.
She was born in Bath on August 2, 1941, a daughter of George and Mildred (Cressey) Bailey.
She was employed at Green Point Farms on Dresden, Bath Memorial Hospital and later at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
She enjoyed watching and occasionally buying on infomercials.
She was predeceased by her first husband Robert Varnum in 1976, her second husband, John French on 2006, one daughter, Anna Douglass in 2009, one son, Thomas C. Varnum in 1997 and one grandson, David Varnum in 2011.
She is survived by one son, Roger E. Varnum of Dresden, five grandchildren, Mason Varnum, Bethany Varnum, Robert Varnum, Brandon Varnum and Amy Varnum, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Oak Grove Cemetery, South Section in Bath.
