PORTLAND — Therese B. Truman, age 91 of Saco, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at the Barron Center with family by her side.
She was born on Oct. 24, 1927 in Springvale, Maine the daughter of Edgar Carette and Rose Anna (Daigle) Carette. She attended school in Sanford.
On Nov. 26, 1946 she married Robert H. Robida in Notre Dame Church in Springvale. Therese was an avid Scrabble player who played regularly with her friends at her home in the Wardwell apartments in Saco. She knew all the legal two-letter words and often used the words Xi, Xu, and Jo.
She was predeceased by her first husband Robert on April 1, 2010, her parents, and her brother Marcel.
Therese is survived by her daughter Claire Talbot and her husband Donald from Cumberland Center; three sons Paul Robida and his wife Joyce from Biddeford, Marc Robida and his wife Lorraine of South Berwick, and John Robida and his wife Maria from Florida; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the Barron Center Staff as well as the caring members of the Compassus Hospice.
Services scheduled will be private for Therese B. Truman. Arrangements are under the direction of Cote Funeral Home 87 James St. Saco, Maine.
