Potluck and Christmas concert

The customary first Saturday of the month Village Coffeehouse will move to Saturday, Dec. 15. The evening will feature a community potluck at 5:30 p.m. in the vestry of the First Congregational Church located at 19 Gloucester Hill Road, followed by a 7 p.m. benefit concert in the elegant church sanctuary.

Yuletide performances will be presented by Jim Gallant, Bald Hill and other talented area musicians to benefit the local Emergency Fuel Assistance Fund. The suggested donation for the concert is $10 per person. A lap quilt handcrafted by Ellie Fellers will be raffled. Tickets are $1 each, or six for $5. Calendar raffle

Members of the Royal River Riders Snowmobile Club are starting their season by with a Calendar Raffle offering a total of more than $1,000 in prizes – gift cards to L.L. Bean, Cabela’s, Famous Footwear, Dunkin’ Donuts, Amazon, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Link’s Variety and more.

Tickets cost $5 each or 5 tickets for $20 and will be sold through Monday, Dec. 31. Drawings start Jan. 1 and will continue each day throughout the month. Each patron has a chance to win 31 times.

Wreath making for kids

Children ages 3 and up are invited to make a beautiful balsam wreath at the Pineland Farms Education Barn, 100B Valley Farm Road. Classes are held from 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8; Tuesday, Dec. 11; Thursday, Dec. 13; and Wednesday, Dec. 19.

Thanksgiving gratitude

The Caring Community of GNG would like to express their appreciation for all who helped, in many ways, to provide more than 80 Thanksgiving meals to individuals and families in the community. A huge thank you goes to each of the many groups, individuals, families and churches that adopted families or made monetary donations to make Thanksgiving food baskets possible.

Expressions of gratitude start with the GNG Middle School National Junior Honor Society for generously donating 20 food baskets. Additionally, recognition goes to the GNG High School Community Service Club, First Congregational Church of Gray, Tenderhearted Day Care, St. Gregory’s Church, Boy Scout Troop 86, Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Otelco, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, NG Fraternal Order of Eagles 4131, Pathways Church, Bradford Rug Gallery, as well as numerous individual donors.

CCGNG is currently preparing to provide Christmas gifts for children 16 and under who are residents of Gray or New Gloucester.
