ACTON — The State Fire Marshal’s Office says one man has died in a fire in Acton on Saturday.

The fire destroyed a garage and a second-floor apartment at a residence on Hopper Road.

Maine Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said that the victim’s body was recovered from the rubble early Sunday morning by a team of fire investigators who went to the scene.

The identity of the deceased has not yet released.

McCausland said the team is continuing to work to investigate the cause of the fire.

Firefighters were called to the scene Saturday night. Fire crews from several surrounding departments responded to provide mutual aid.
