SHAPLEIGH — Rachel A. McAdoo, 72, of Shapleigh,  passed away on Jan. 1, 2019 at York Hospital with her family by her side.

Rachel was born on April 25, 1946 in Biddeford Maine to Louise (Marie) Provencher and Rene Provencher.

Rachel wore many hats throughout her lifetime.  She worked in the Waterboro tannery for years before driving buses for the school district, then driving dump trucks, oil trucks and recently secretary of Ledgemere Transportation in Sanford.

She enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, hunting and embracing the nice days trying to hand feed the gray squirrels.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Maurice, and her husband Edwin (Mac) McAdoo.

Surviving are her three sons, Robert Frasier and his wife Robin of Rochester, New Hampshire, James Frasier and his wife Diane of Shapleigh, and Patrick Frasier and his partner Nancy Wakefield of Shapleigh; her Aunt Theresa Paradis of Saco who was more like a sister to her; six grandchildren, Cindy, Ashley, Dustin, Kara, Evan and Alicia; two great-grandchildren who were the apple of her eyes, Dixie and Xander; and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the workers at Ledgemere Transportation that she instantly made friends with and made her feel at home. Also, a big thank you to all the staff at York Hospital and Hospice.
