SCARBOROUGH — Rosanne Desmarais Armstrong, 75, died on Jan. 16, 2019 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

Rosanne was born in Sanford, Maine on April 28, 1943, the daughter of Henry and Simone (Huot) Desmarais.  She graduated from St. Ignatius High School in Sanford and the Boston School of Dental Nursing. She married April 16, 1966 and had one son.

She worked as an office manager in the early years and transitioned into sales working for both Management Solutions and DUX Computer Works in Sanford providing business computer and software solutions throughout the country. She also worked in Radio Broadcasting in Maine and New Hampshire for many years as an Account Executive and General Manager.

In 1995, Rosanne moved to Needham, Massachusetts. She sold men’s designer clothing and accessories at Bloomingdale’s Chestnut Hill and it proved to be some of her most rewarding work. During this time of her life, Roseanne also became a member of the Congregation Kehillath Israel community in Brookline.

Upon retirement in 2016, Rosanne moved back to Maine to be closer to her family. She kept very active during her retirement taking classes at USM, volunteering at the children’s department of the South Portland Library, and hosting weekly home cooked dinners with her son and daughter in law. Her elegant style, quest for knowledge, and quick-witted sense of humor will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Julie Armstrong of Scarborough; and a sister Marilyn Yingling and her husband Keith of Texas. She is also survived by three nieces and a nephew.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.
